Henry Phillips was born in the last quarter of 1920 in Wokingham to George and Gladys Phillips (née Newman).

In 1939 Henry's parents, and his sister Joan were living at Stokesay in Watmore Lane, Winnersh. His father's occupation was recorded as Council Sanitary Section Refuge Scavenger (Heavy Worker), while Joan was a drapery shop assistant.

Henry died on the 1st January 1943.

He rests in the churchyard of St.Catherines, Bearwood.
