The Buffs (East Kent Regt.) s of Harry Lammas, of 2, Osborne Road, Wokingham,
Gardner, by his wife, Emily, dau. of William Shorter ; b. Hurst Twyford,
co. Berks, 25 June 1897 ; educ. Bearwood School, Wokingham, co. Berks ;
was a Grocer's Assistant; joined the Buffs 18 June 1915 ; served with the
Indian Expeditionary Force in Mesopotamia from 13 Aug. 1917, and died at No.
23 Stationary Hospital, Bagdad, 3 Dec. following, from dysentery contracted
while on active service. Buried in North Cemetery, Bagdad ; unm.
They shall not grow old,
as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun,
and in morning
We will remember them.
