Reginald Ford was born in Hurst on the 8th January 1899,
to Ernest and Alice (née Matthews).
In 1901 the family were living in Watmores Lane, Winnersh, and Ernest was a farmer.
By 1911 they had moved to Watchetts Farm in Frimley, Surrey.
At this time Ernest was a farm bailiff.
Reginald was reported missing on 16th July 1918.
He was a prisoner of war in the camp at Dercy when he died on 1st September 1918.
Reginald was 19 years old.
He rests in the British Extension of the
Chauny Communal Cemetery,
Ainse, France.
He is also commemorated on a tryptych in All Saints' Church, North Moreton, Oxfordshire.
