Robert Webster
was born around 1917 to George and Ethel Webster.
In 1935 he enlisted with the Royal Artillery, and served until 26th April 1939.
Robert re-enlisted soon after the outbreak of war, on the 19th September 1939, and rejoined the Royal Artillery.
In 1939 Robert's parents and his sister Anne were living in Hinton Lodge, Haines Hill.
His father George was a chartered accountant,
employed as Chief Accountant by the United Africa Co. Ltd.
at Unilever House in Blackfriars.
He was also an A.R.P. warden and deputy billeting officer for Hurst.
Robert died on 28th January 1944
while serving with the Royal Artillery at Imphal.
They shall not grow old,
as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun,
